Bloglines was probably my fave app of 2.0, I was trying to figure out how to subscribe to all of the blogs and , wham, Bloglines. I just checked it, haven't for a while, there are 975 feeds. Hummm...

As for RSS, I have added the RSS app to my Mozilla browser and it keeps me updated on world news through several different sites.

The Wiki seems like a blog to me. I understand that it is more geared towards Q & A, but you can receive responses on a blog also. I don't see the benefit's of a Wiki over a blog.

The quality suffered to get this uploaded, the original has much more contrast. The first tune is by Devotchka and the second by Pinback. My friend Sarah is a photography major here at UK, and she did lots of work in an old abandoned house she found deep in the woods. She was selling her photos at a Starbucks in town and was contacted by an individual who bought one of the prints. That individual grew up in the house and they met and Sarah learned a lot about the family and home they lived in. It is an amazing story, what a small world. So, I had to put my stamp on the story with this video.

Windowz Vista

I know it is unpopular to like the new Windows operating system, Vista. But, you need not let the hype get to you and figure out for yourself. I have been using Vista and have been very impressed. There is a new version of Windows Movie Maker that is nice, they have added the ability to burn DVD's of your project. I have also found that the speech recognition addition to Vista is well done and works nicely. However, my only negative about Vista is that is is extremely RAM intensive. So, no rush to get into Vista, take your time, but don't hate it until you try it. Also, some day you will have to move on, but you'll be fine.

I am a new blogger

I had a small blog for a class, but I have never gone this far into the world of blogging. Because I have done some work with HTML and CSS, in social networking programs, this isn't a stretch. I did a lot of "creative copying" to begin building my blog. Then, I "upgrade" to my own taste. The picture at the top is mine, I took a pic of my fire pit at home then resized it to fit at the top of my blog. My blog in school was also called Brainsplinters, and I create music under the moniker Brainsplinters.

I think this is probably our best bet for green cars.

Publishing company's and colleges should take full advantage of this technology. You could lower the cost too the students, and universities. End the battle between the reselling stores and publishing companies, and, cut down on waste. I do not see the downside. Now that Amazon has caught up on production of the Kindle, it seems that it would be a great asset to a university. The Kindle is real genius, not a hyped up Segway. Here is I little info, biased, but informational, from Amazon.

I did a research paper about , "the last mile", in the Telcom world. It is basically the connection from the pole to the house. Essentially it doesn't matter how much bandwidth, Fiber Optics, you have along the street you would get a slow speed because of the connection into the home. Also, it isn't feesable to run Fiber Optics into many Rural areas, even though the great Bell company did it with twisted paired wires, and was extremely successful with phone lines, but thats another story.The FCC has been working with BPL (Broadband Over Power Lines). To the chagrin of amateur radio enthusiast,an unfortunate dying breed.
Long live the Mexican Radio!

Brazil gives up on priest carried off by balloons

SAO PAULO, Brazil---- Brazil's air force on Thursday suspended its search for a Roman Catholic priest who vanished after sailing into the air under a cluster of colorful balloons. The cleric's family chartered a private plane to continue the hunt.

The Rev. Adelir Antonio de Carli has been missing since Sunday, when he lifted off from the port city of Paranagua strapped to 1,000 balloons and wearing a helmet, an aluminum thermal flight suit, waterproof coveralls and a parachute.

A spokesman for the Defense Ministry, who declined to be named in line with departmental regulations, said the air force halted its search in the early morning.

''Over the past few days, air force planes flew over 5,000 square kilometers (1,900 square miles) of land and sea and found no trace of the priest,'' the spokesman said.

But the navy continued to search using a helicopter and two boats, he said.

Denise Gallas, the treasurer of de Carli's parish, said his family chartered a twin-engine plane after several parishioners said they had ''premonitions'' he had landed near a small town called Barra Velha on the coast of Santa Catarina state.

''We remain as confident as ever that he is still alive,'' she said. ''Our faith is unshakable.''

Jose Carlos Bom, a member of de Carli's technical support team, said if the 41-year-old priest descended on land and was not badly injured, ''he has a better than average chance of being alive because he has taken jungle-survival courses and is in excellent physical condition.

''However, if he is still out in the ocean somewhere, I am afraid the chances that he is alive are almost zero.''

According to Gallas, the priest hoped his flight would help raise money for a center where truck drivers could stop ''to rest and receive the gospel.''

Why don't they make tarpoleon that are the color of roofs? Why not tarps that look like shingles?
for all those unfortunate individuals who still have roof damage but are unable to fix their roof, they wouldn't have such a smurfy roof.
